Greenko's project activity is committed to 'inclusive' growth & local stakeholder involvement to ensure strong positive net effect of the projects on social, economic, environmental well being & local community initiatives.

Social & Economic well being
Greenko respects the desire of local people to participate in economic opportunities associated with industrial development within their traditional territory.
We actively seek participation by qualified local individuals, contractors and businesses in our operations, including the construction and operation of our projects. Rural industries are being setup as a consequence of the location of power plants nearby .This also assists infrastructure development in rural areas thereby reducing migration to cities.
The projects provide economic value to agricultural and wood wastes and provide stable quality power to neighboring industry farmers & households.
The collection & transportation of the biomass fuel from fields generated direct & indirect employment opportunities for the rural populations.

In addition to the above Greenko also promotes activities like:

World Environment Day
It is celebrated on 5th June across all our plants. More than 2000 saplings were planted across our projects to spread environmental awareness.

The Hyderabad 10K Run
It is one of the city's largest sporting event held on the third Sunday of November every year To promote environment awareness Greenko Group has been actively participating in the Hyderabad 10K Run consistently for the past 3 years.

Greenko Hyderabad Open Quiz
We introduced the concept of "open quiz" in Hyderabad along with the Hyderabad Quiz Club where one can participate in the quiz by forming a team of 3 members belonging to any age group .This initiative was started in 2008 and is held on the first Saturday of August every year. As a part of the program one entire round of questions is dedicated towards environment.

Health Camps
To show its commitment towards health & fitness Greenko conducts regular health camps at its projects for the local gentry with special emphasis on under privileged citizens of the society.

We had also sponsored the show of Non Stop Aerobics conducted on 1st Nov 09 at Vijayawada.

Greenko has also contributed towards education by providing the village panchayath school children with uniforms & stationary and in some schools we have also donated furniture.

Greenko also provided aid for the flood affected people in Andhra Pradesh by providing them with blankets, clothes & utensils.
